Ever compared your eyes with an Digital Camera? How much MegaPixels it would have been? TechSiddharth.com brings you an off-content post about the technical specification of an human eye, when compared to an image capturing device.

Let us first deal with some basic terms used to describe optical devices. The definitions were taken from Google Search.

• Megapixels ~ A unit of graphic resolution equivalent to 2²⁰ or (strictly) 1,048,576 pixels.
• Resolution ~ The term resolution refers to the number of columns and rows of pixels.
• Pixels ~ A minute area of illumination on a display screen, one of many from which an image is composed.

The Resolution of an human eye is 576MP, the technical breakdown is as follows:

Consider a view in front of you that is 90 degrees by 90 degrees, like looking through an open window at a scene. The number of pixels would be 90 degrees * 60 arc-minutes/degree * 1/0.3 * 90 * 60 * 1/0.3 = 324,000,000 pixels (324 megapixels).

At any one moment, you actually do not perceive that many pixels, but your eye moves around the scene to see all the detail you want. But the human eye really sees a larger field of view, close to 180 degrees. Let’s be conservative and use 120 degrees for the field of view.

Then we would see 120 * 120 * 60 * 60 / (0.3 * 0.3) = 576 megapixels.

The full angle of human vision would require even more megapixels. This kind of image detail requires A large format camera to record.

Therefore, once our cameras reach 576MP, the pictures you take with your camera will look exactly the same as you see them. 

One more fact to quote, the ladies see colours brighter than gents but can't see as well when it gets dark. This happens because of the variation in number of cones & rods present in human eye.

Girlfriend 5.0 to wife 1.0 !!!

This is one of the best Techie Jokes I have heard. Have a Look!

Dear Tech Support Team:

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0.
I soon noticed that the new program, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all
other programs and now monitors all other system activities.
Applications such as BachelorNights 10.3, Cricket 5.0, BeerWithBuddies 7.5
, and Outings 3.6 no longer runs, crashing the system whenever selected. I
can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my
favorite applications.

I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 5.0 , but the 'uninstall'
doesn't work on Wife 1.0.

Please help!

Dear Troubled User:

This is a very common problem that people complain about.
Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0 , thinking that it is
just a Utilities and Entertainment program.
Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run
EVERYTHING!!!
It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 5.0.
You cannot go back to Girlfriend 5.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed not to
allow this.
I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate
software augmentation.
The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE because
ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system
will return to normal anyway.
Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean 2.5, Sweep 3.0,
Cook 1.5 and DoLaundry 4.2. However, be very careful how you use these
programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program NagNag
9.5 . Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife
1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Sarees 2.1 and
Jewellery 5.0

STATUTORY WARNING : DO NOT, under any circumstances, install Secretary With
ShortSkirt 3.3 . This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will
cause irreversible damage to the operating system.

VBS – Caps Lock “on off” loop

This is a vbs file. A vbs file stands for “VBScript”. It’s kind of like a batch file. You have to save it in a different format is all. This one I’ll show is a vbs file that will turn your caps lock on and off repeatedly. It is intended for no purpose except to annoy someone. Here it is:
1. Open notepad.
2. Type:

Are Computers Men or Women?

A language teacher was explaining to her class that in French, nouns unlike their English counterparts, are grammatically designated as masculine or feminine.”House” in French, is feminine -”la maison,” “Pencil” in French, is masculine “le crayon.”

One puzzled student asked, “What gender is computer?” The teacher did not know, and the word was not in her French dictionary.

So for fun she split the class into two groups appropriately enough, by gender and asked them to decide whether “computer” should be a masculine or a feminine noun.

Both groups were required to give four reasons for their recommendation.

The men’s group decided that computer should definitely be of the feminine gender (”la computer”), because

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic
2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else
3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later review
4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheque on accessories for it.

The women’s group, however, concluded that computers should be masculine “le computer”) because:

1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on.
2. They have a lot of data but still can’t think for themselves
3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem
4. As soon as you commit to one, you realise that if you had waited a little longer you could have gotten a better model.

Hiding Log Off Button

On the Start menu there is Log Off button. The position is beside Turn Off Computer button. If you don't want to have Log Off button, you can hide it by doing the following steps:

1. Click Start - Run.
2. Type "regedit".
3. Go to HKEY_CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.
4. On the right window of registry editor, right-click the empty space.
5. Choose New - DWORD Value.
6. Type the value name "StartMenuLogOff" and press Enter.
7. Right-click the new key you've made and choose Modify.
8. On the Value Data type the number "1" to hide the button.
9. Press OK.
10. Restart your computer.

How to Create an Invisible Folder

Yes it is possible to create an invisible folder.Note that this is not the same as Hiding a folder.

Now to Create an Invisible Folder follow the following simple steps:


First create a normal folder and then we will learn how to make it invisible.

Now make a right click on the folder and select 'Rename' Option from the mouse menu.

Now press backspace to remove the default name(' New Folder') of the folder.

Now press hold the ALT key and along with it press the digit 9 from the number Keypad (only) eight times.

Now you will get a nameless folder.Actually pressing ALT with 9 for eight times creates a space which cannot be seen.

Now Right click on nameless folder and select 'Properties' from mouse menu. Next in properties dialog box click on 'Customize' option.

Click on 'Select Icon' (in the lower part of box) option and a new icon window will open.

Now from icon window select the icon which is an empty blank square with no border probably located in the 14th column of 1st row and 13th column of second,third and fourth row. Select any one of them. Now Save and apply the changes and Refresh, and you have an invisible folder.

Note : This has been tested in Windows XP and might not work on other Operating Systems.

How to Hide a Disk Drive

There are two tested methods to hide a Disk drive.

The first method is for people who are familiar with Windows Registry.But if you are not comfortable in manipulating Registry then it is advised to follow the second method.

First method to hide a Disk Drive:

Click on 'Start' and then click on 'Run' and then type 'regedit' in the box and click on OK.

Registry Editor will open. Now navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
Explorer

Now from the Menu bar of Registry Editor click on 'Edit' and then 'New' and select DWORD Value.

Now Rename the DWORD Value to 'NoDrives'.

Now Right Click on 'NoDrives' and Select 'Modify' , now Check 'Decmial' Option under Base.By Default Hexadecimal is selected and enter the Decimal value (under Value Data) of the Drive you would like to hide.

The list of decimal values of drive is given below:

Drive Letter	Decimal Value
A	1
B	2
C	4
D	8
E	16
F	32
G	64
H	128
I	256

Click OK once finished and then Restart your PC.

The Drive which you have hidden will not be displayed.

Summary : Hiding your Disk Drive:

1) Click Start.
2) Click Run.
3) Type 'regedit' in the Box.
4) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Policies\
5) Explorer.
6) From Registry Editor Menu Bar 'Edit' -> 'New' -> 'DWORD Value'.
7) Rename DWORD Value to 'NoDrives'.
8) Right click on NoDrives -> Modify -> Select 'Decimal' Option -> Put Decimal Value of Drive.
9) Click OK.

Second Method : This is a risk free method and will hide the drive instantly without any need to reboot.

Click on Start and then on Run and type in 'diskpart' in the box below:

A command prompt screen will appear.Now type 'list volume'.

It will look like this:

DISKPART> list volume

On Pressing ENTER you will see details about all the volumes.

Now type 'select disk 0'.

The following message will be prompted:

"Disk 0 is now the selected disk."

Now type in 'detail disk' and you will get all details about your hard disk and disk drives it contains.

Now type in select partition 3 (You may select any partition of your choice , here i want to hide Drive D:/ which is in Partition 3).

A message will be prompted:

"Partition 3 is now the selected partition."

Now type in 'detail partition'

This will show the disk drive in this partition.In my case its D :/ drive

Now to hide D:/ drive we type in 'remove letter D'

Now open 'My computer' and you will not see the drive.But don't worry the data is still intact.Now to get back the drive , type in 'assign letter D'.
and you will get D:/ drive back.

If you have hidden C:/ drive then type 'assign letter C' and so on.

Summary : Hiding Disk Drive the Easy Way.

1) Click Start.
2) Click Run.
3) Type 'diskpart' in the Box.
4) Type 'list volume'.
5) Type 'select disk 0'.
6) Type 'detail disk'.
7) Type 'select partition 3'.
8) Type 'detail partition'.
9) Type 'remove letter D' .

Note : This has been tested in Windows XP and might not work on other Operating Systems.

Shutdown Computer with a Cell Phone

Using this method, a user can shutdown, restart, hibernate, etc. his or her computer, just by sending an email from his or her phone.

To do this, all you will need is Microsoft Outlook which should come with Microsoft Office, which most people have. This will need to be on the computer wish you wish to shutdown.

So, this is how you do this:

1. First, you need the batch files to perform the Shutdown, Hibernate etc. You can write them down yourselves

2. open your note pad

and write lik this...

c:\windows\system32\shutdown -s -f -t 00

and save it as shutdown.bat

3. Open up Microsoft Outlook. Make sure that you have already configured it for your email.Now we will need to make it so that Outlook checks your inbox about every minute (1 minute for testing time can be increased if a delayed shutdown is desired). You can do this by going to Tools: Options.

4. Then click the Mail Setup tab, and afterwards, the Send/Receive button.

5. Make sure that the Schedule an automatic send/receive every... box is checked, and set the number of minutes to 1. Now you may close all of these dialog boxes.

6. Now go to Tools: Rules and Alerts... Next click the options button in the upper right hand corner and press the Import Rules button.

7. Now select the shutdown.bat file ...whi u hv created ...

8. Now, when you send a message from your phone to your e-mail address with the subject shutdown or smsshutdown%%, your computer will shutdown.


Use any of the Isolated or dead E-mail address or any e-mail will shutdown your computer.
